Slow connectivity, drops in signals or even deadspots around the house?
There are various reasons as to why you may be experiencing this issue:
- You use a single router for the entire home, and it is placed too far from the rooms.
- A lot of obstructions such as thick concrete walls, and possibly bad placement of the router. *Routers usually function better when placed in open spaces with as few obstructions as possible in between.
- Your router may be too old and needs an upgrade.
- Your new router(s) may not have been configured properly and may need to be reset and set up again.
- The equipment being used with setup maybe limiting / bottle-necking your speeds (such as faulty network switches, end devices such as phones, computers, Playstations which are usually by default limited to 1Gbps and are therefore unable to take-in/ detect higher speeds etc.)
- You may have faulty cables, data/LAN points that are not able to output the required speeds. Most likely can be resolved with our repair service, if not may need to upgrade by laying new cable.
- You use mesh routers in the rooms but the mesh are all wirelessly connected which mostly causes loss in signal.
What is the optimal way to use mesh system/routers?
It is highly recommended to use mesh routers with LAN connection otherwise known as wired backhaul.
This is because, if mesh routers are connected wirelessly, the wifi signal ‘piggy-backs’ off of each router or node, making the signal weaker when passed on from one router to the next.
Therefore, having a wired/LAN connection ensures direct input from the main router which makes it an overall smooth coverage/connection throughout the house or any space with stable speeds.
“Can I still use mesh just wirelessly, I don’t want to go through the trouble of wiring everything or fear that it will look ugly.”
Yes, of course you can. ItJ is after all a key feature of mesh routers which is having the ability to connect wirelessly and setup with ease.
But you will not get the optimal performance as advertised for the routers, regardless of how powerful and expensive they might be compared to having wired/LAN connection.
What if you do not have LAN points?
We offer installation of new data/LAN points with different types of cables. Contact us to find out more about our pricing and what is included in it.
If you have existing telephone ports, they can be converted to LAN points if eligible.
*If your house is a BTO, it will most likely have telephone ports installed in every room as standard and they are eligible to be converted. We can provide pricing upon request for conversion services.
As for other houses:
(Cable being used for the telephone port has to be at least Cat 5E or Cat 6 to be eligible to be converted.)
-If unsure you can provide pictures of your DB box if you have one, or you can directly open up/unscrew the telephone port fully and take a picture of the cable inside.
-The cable should have 4 pairs of coloured wires: blue, green, brown, orange.
*If the cable does not meet those requirements, then it is most likely too old and has to be upgraded. Contact us to find out more about our services regarding this issue.
How do product purchases work and what about delivery and warranty?
Before purchasing a product, do let us know which item you are looking to buy and how many of each item you need. Based on that we will check for stock availability first and revert back to you with an update.
Once the item is confirmed to have stock, we will provide you with the required payment details and you can settle payment through that.
Delivery details:
Delivery can take upto 1-3 days (excluding Sundays/Public holidays) depending on when the order is placed.
After the items have been paid and arranged for, Items will be delivered upon a discussed date by EOD( end of day)
For item purchases that are $100 and above, delivery is free.
Anything below $100, there will be an additional $10 delivery charge.
Self-Collection is also available, but payment is to be settled beforehand in order for us to arrange for the item. *Customer will be updated once the item is ready for pickup. Pickup location details will be provided once ready.
Do you offer any other services or just strictly networking and CCTV only?
Networking and CCTV is our main domain which our company offers its services in.
But we do also offer other services such as Electricals, Painting and other works related to renovation, construction and other projects alike. We have experience with various commercial projects as well where we offer package deals accordingly.
